5 Quick Tips On HOW-TO Build Google Adsense Feeder Pages The Search Engines Devour

Today your in for a real treat. WHY? Because I’m going to tell you How-To build “Feeder Pages” search engines simply die for.

And don’t worry, these tips won’t strain your brain to much and are very straight forward, even if your New to the Internet marketing game.

TRAFFIC, as we all know it is the life blood of your businesses VERY existence online, so wouldn’t it be nice if you could tap into some of that traffic, thats targeted Search Engine traffic, absolutely FREE Of Charge?

I bet you said YES!

Well… your in luck because that’s the sole purpose of a “Feeder Page”.

Now, the question that I found that usually arises with “Feeder Pages” is How-To build them correctly.

This was the exact question I had myself when I was first came across this type of website Traffic Generation and is why I’m writing this article.

So, with that said, I hope by the time you finish reading this article you’ll have a good idea yourself of the steps neccessary on How-To build quality “Feeder Pages” of your own that will send you FREE targeted search engine traffic and generate you some Google Adsense revenue as well.

Lets get started. Go to Tip #1.

Tip #1. Make your “Feeder Pages” theme based.

This is an important tip. You must make your “Feeder Pages” the same theme as the rest of your website. What I mean by that is, same template, same navigation, same links, copyright, etc.

By doing this it won’t seem as obvious to your visitor that its a generated page of some sort and will give you a better chance of them clicking through to your main sale pages.

Tip #2. Put quality Keyword Rich content on your pages.

This is yet another important tip you must consider and that is putting quality Keyword Targeted content on your “Feeder Pages” that targets your audience.

Why?

Because you are building these pages for the search engines and since roughly 85% of Internet surfers use search engines as their primary tool for locating the information they’re looking for your going to want to have Quality Content related to your Product or Service waiting for them to draw them in when they find your link within the search engine listings.

Tip #3. Add links back to your website or affiliate site.

This next tip is pretty straight forward. All you need to do is put either a Text Ad(recommended) or some Banner Ads within the “Feeder Pages” in Highly Visible areas and link them back to your main website or Affiliate website.

This is the whole purpose of building these pages in the first place.

Tip #4. Placing your Google Adsense code for $$CASH$$.

Since your doing all this work to generate traffic to your main website why not profit EVEN MORE by adding 3 blocks of Google Adsense code to your “Feeder Pages” just in case your visitor decides not to click through to your website or affiliate site.

And since your “Feeder Pages” have quality Keyword Targeted content on them, your Google Adsense Ads will display targeted ads.

The best places to put your 3 blocks of Google Adsense code is right at the top under your Header graphic if you have one. The next best place is in the upper left sidebar. And the last place is either within the content itself or at the end of the article.

These positions all depend on how you build your “Feeder Pages”, so make sure you plan out where you want to put your Google Adsense code in advance for Maximum PROFIT!

Tip #5. Add an RSS feed to your “Feeder Pages”.

Okay. Here’s the last tip I’m going to share and that is, add an RSS(Real Simple Syndication) feed to your “Feeder Pages”.

By doing this you’ll be putting your “Feeder Pages” on Autopilot, 24/7.

Why an RSS feed?

Simple. RSS feeds deliver and syndicate fresh content, so if you have an RSS feed on your “Feeder Pages” your content will be updated ‘Automatically’ which will then trigger the search engine spiders to schedule routine visits back to your website for more indexing.

Well… there you have it in a nutshell folks.

If you follow what I have outlined above you’ll be on your way to FREE targeted search engine traffic and Google Adsense $$PROFITS$$.

These are just some quality tips I wanted to share with you from my own experience to help you Maximize your efforts if you decide to use this type of Traffic Generation, and to also help take away the Trial and Error process.

Get 1 Million FREE Guaranteed Visitors!!! Do you believe it ?

Dear Webmaster, Double a penny every day for a month and what do you get? Over ten million dollars! That’s the power of exponential growth, and the Internet is the one medium that can harness that power… for FREE!

FreeViral.com fully exploits this phenomenon to help generate MASSIVE VISITOR TRAFFIC for your website!

So how does this system work?

Our system is similar to others you may have seen on the Internet with one major difference… our system guarantees traffic to your website! The concept is simple; at the bottom of this page you will notice 6 classified ads.

When you sign up, you will receive a website just like this one with your classified ad in the #1 position! The ad that was in the #1 position will move down to the #2 position, the 2nd ad to the #3 position, and so on with the last classified ad being taken off of the page.

When someone signs up from your website, their classified ad will be placed in the #1 spot with your ad moving to the #2 spot, the 2nd ad moving down to the #3 spot and so on. By the time your classified ad reaches the #6 spot, you will have noticed an amazing amount of FREE traffic!

How do I get guaranteed traffic?

When someone signs up from your site, they must first click on your classified ad which will open a new window leading to your main website. They will have to wait a few seconds for the code to appear on a separate frame at the top of the screen.

While they wait, they will have time to read what you have to offer! This can equate to more sales, downline members, affiliate sign-ups, ezine subscribers, etc.! Each classified ad will have to be clicked on to retrieve a unique code meaning that you will receive FREE Traffic throughout all 6 levels!!!

How much FREE traffic can I expect?

Lets be extremely conservative and assume that your page and everybody else’s pages only get 10 sign-ups:

CONSERATIVE EXAMPLE 10 people sign up from you: 1 x 10 = Your ad on 10 new sites 10 people sign up from each of them: 10 x 10 = Your ad on 100 new sites 10 people sign up from each of them: 10 x 100 = Your ad on 1,000 new sites 10 people sign up from each of them: 10 x 1,000 = Your ad on 10,000 new sites 10 people sign up from each of them: 10 x 10,000 = Your ad on 100,000 new sites 10 people sign up from each of them: 10 x 100,000 = Your ad on 1,000,000 new sites

This system works amazingly well on the Internet. There is nothing to slow it down. You can setup your viral webpage today and have 5 or 10 sign-ups within a few days! With it being so easy to join you could literally have over 50,000 sites displaying your ad within a short time!

The system works extremely well so be prepared for some massive visitor traffic to your site! Remember, this system doesn’t just give you ad exposures, it generates GUARANTEED VISITS to your site, because participants are required to visit your website. And that translates to GUARANTEED MASSIVE VISITOR TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE

Fill out the EZ signup form in the like below and your new password will be emailed to you. You’ll be able to log into your account anytime to change your ad, change your URL, and check your downline referral stats.

Some quick tips to easily improve the success of your forum!

It is difficult to define a ’successful forum’. However, all forums deal with information and so the amount of information that is transferred across a forum is an indication of its success. The most effective way to boost the transfer of information is by boosting your forum’s traffic.

Getting visitors to your forum for the first time

Promote your forum in a signature file at the end of your articles, emails and forum posts. This will show people that you do have a forum. Usually, the main reason people don’t visit forums is not because they have no interest in visiting them, but because they don’t know they’re there. Raising awareness of your forum is particularly important. If you have an ezine, promote your forum in that and include some of the most interesting comments that have been posted. Your website should also promote your forum avidly. Try to include a visible link to your forum on every page of your website. This way whichever page visitors enter on, they will always have the opportunity to learn about and visit your forum. Also, with a link on every page of your site, visitors are always seeing your forum offer, and on the internet, repetition works!

Possibly the most effective way to get more posts on your forum is by offering an incentive to anyone who posts or signs up as a ‘forum member’. Offer those who post a free ebook which you send to them by email. This way you capture their email address too and so if your forum goes through a period of poor traffic you can always contact old posters and ask them to post for you. Don’t think old posters won’t do this. They will probably be honoured that you have remembered about them and that you value their thoughts and comments. It is amazing how a little incentive such as an ebook can bring hundreds of people to post on you forum.

Publish testimonials about your forum all over your website and in your ezine. You could even incorporate one in a signature file. You can’t rely on your visitors trusting you on the fact that your forum contains high quality posts. Get opinions on your forum from previous posters, collect the most complimentary ones and then distribute these testimonials to as many people as you can. People will be interested if you can prove that your forum has helped others. If you don’t have any testimonials, then don’t be afraid to ask your forum visitors for them. As I’ve said before, they will be honoured that you value their opinion and are likely to give a very complimentary testimonial.

Do you publish ads on your forum? If you do, then consider doing an ad swap with a forum of the same subject as yours. This will ensure that traffic from your ad swap will be targeted. This method of advertising is very effective and is also free. For tips on creating a great ad go to http://www.blog.info-ebooks.co.uk/creatingprofitads.html.

Getting visitors to come back to your forum

It is one thing being able to get people to your forum, but is quite another to get them to come back. However, if you wish to have a successful forum, you need people who post regularly.

Most importantly, make sure that your forum has a focused topic around which all the posts are based. Forums with no focus very rarely succeed because it is so difficult to attract a targeted audience and these forums very rarely go into enough depth on the subject that is being discussed. The topic you choose to base your forum on should be something that you know a great deal about so that you can respond to anyone who might ask a question. This will save you from looking unprofessional and you will also enjoy managing your forum more if it is based on something you are interested about.

Another essential fact to consider when running a forum is that people who post and ask questions want answers fast. They definitely do not want to have to wait more than 24 hours for a reply because it looks like no one cares about helping them. Just make sure you check your forum periodically, perhaps 4 times a day, and answer any questions.

Make sure that your forum is regularly updated with interesting posts. Nothing will put a visitor off more than discovering that the last post was over a week ago. This will definitely not encourage them to reply. Don’t be afraid to post the majority of comments yourself. Even if they aren’t replied to, at least it makes your forum look active.

Also, do not let your forum’s layout let you down. I thoroughly recommend staying clear of bright colours. Choose a good colour scheme, perhaps a light and dark colour. Even though this sounds pedantic, your colour scheme is what visitors will see first. Be careful not to overcomplicate your forum either. Make navigation easier by putting links in an orderly fashion.

10 Easier Ways Than SEO To Get Web Site Traffic

Everyone wants “organic” or “free” traffic, but it’s a full time job to try to keep on top of the search engines changing rules. Instead, if you build a good content-rich site and do the things on this list, you’ll get traffic and help your ranking at the same time.

1. Use Pay-Per-Click (PPC) – Get traffic in an hour with PPC. Google and Overture (now Yahoo). Don’t bother with others until you make these two work. The key to this is to know your visitor value, bid on hundreds of key words and phrases and split test your ads and track each key word, phrase or ad separately.

2. Distribute Your Content – write articles of value to your target market. Distribute that content for other webmasters to use on their sites as long as they keep the link back to you in a “resource box” at the end of each article. Distribute your articles through article directories, ezines, and distribution services. The key to make this work is valuable content.

3. Submit Press Releases – submit electronic press releases frequently with news of interest to the media and your target market. Since press releases are news, if they get picked up, it will be quickly and you may get hundreds of links back to your site this way. Key to make this work: write 300 – 500 word releases, include a link back to you, and have them written and distributed by experts who know how to optimize each release for key words (not typical PR firms).

4. Set Up a Blog with RSS – to be effective, blogs must have frequently updated content. Base yours on information helpful to your customers, not sales pitches. Don’t do it unless you can commit some ongoing time to it. Seth Godin says the keys to a successful blog are: Candor, Urgency, Timeliness, Pithiness (short & to the point), and Controversy. The key to making this work is to make it interesting to your visitors, submit to blog directories, ping the search engines when you post and distribute your content with RSS.

5. Get One-Way Incoming Links – All the previous tips will create incoming, one-way links but you can also buy links from other sites from text link brokers. Don’t do reciprocal linking, it’s dead. Make sure you get links from pages with a Google Page Rank higher than “0″. A site Google rates as “0″ may be because they are penalizing it for some reason. If you link to it, you’ll get penalized too.

The key to making this work: Make sure links have your key words in the anchor text and make sure they are text, not graphical links. Make sure they are from other relevant sites, not link farms or FFA (Free for All) sites. The ideal is links from relevant pages without many other links.

6. Give Other Sites Your Testimonial – let them publish it on their web site as long as they link back to you. This can get you a one-way link from a site that would otherwise not give it to you. The key to make this work: keep it short and to the point.

7. Email Promotions – Advertise in Ezines, place ads in someone else’s email newsletters that reach your target market. The key to make this work: track everything carefully

8. Joint Ventures – Get promoted to your JV partner’s customer database by your JV partner. John Reese sold over $1 Million of his information product in 24 hours exclusively by using joint venture promotions from his partners sending his offer to their customer lists. He paid his partners commissions on sales. The key to make this work: know your visitor value and have a tested and proven sales page that converts well BEFORE you contact JV prospects.

9. Get Affiliates – If selling a product, offer a commission to affiliates to sell for you. Each affiliate’s link to your sales letter conversion page will bring you traffic and a better search engine rank too. The key to making this work is to make it financially attractive to your affiliates and give them everything they need to promote your product or service. Make it brain dead easy for them to do.

10. Buy Other Web Sites – Find web sites that already rank high on your keywords and verify their traffic with the site owner and independent tools. Make sure you get ownership of the domain – you can let them still use their content elsewhere. Check deleteddomains.com to see what domains you can register for a few dollars that their owners have let expire. The key to making this work: Check Google page rank, Alexa rank and the number of back links for any site before you buy a web site.

One marketer I know challenged some SEO experts to see who could get ranked highest on a given term in 24 hours. He won, the techies did a lot of slick things, but the marketer just bought the site that was already # 1.

Higher Website Traffic Conversion Made Easy

In 1993, on a moon lit, warm summer night, I was surfing the Internet attempting to discover what successful sites had in common. I was really hungry to find out the secret ingredient of websites that were making it big.

You see, I was tired of traveling thousands of miles by plane and car. My mind was made up to stop living out of a suitcase. It didn’t matter that I had hit a peak in my marketing and sales career by working on projects for best-selling author- Tony Robbins. I was eager to simplify my life, settle down, and work from home.

I began my journey brimming with certainty about achieving my outcome. You see, years earlier I learned from Tony that every successful person has three characteristics. They take certain actions, in a specific order, and on a consistent basis. With that in mind, I knew that selling on the Internet would have it’s top producers -like any other field- and all I had to do is get their materials, then read, study and implement the wisdom divulged on each page and in every word.

I was elated to find out that, regardless of all the actions, the order in which the actions were taken, and the amount of consistency employed…that at the core of it all, there existed one essential skill.

Believe or not, there is one skill that virtually anyone can learn, practice, and master (after 1,000 hours) to become successful at selling on the web.

Warning! You may want to sit down before finding out the one skill that contributes the most to the success of website owners who earn boat loads of cash. Contrary to what I believed, it wasn’t search engine marketing, pay per click or reciprocal linking.

Don’t get me wrong though. Those traffic generation methods are needed. But if you drive a million unique visitors to your site per day, and none of them buy anything, or at very minimum subscribe to your newsletter so that you can follow up with an offer, you won’t be able to pay your mortgage, car note, hosting fees, etc.

So what good are your traffic generating skills? Every online company must generate traffic, aka leads/prospects. That’s what search engine ranking and other traffic generation methods are meant to do. Good news is learning the one skill all successful website owners have in common will increase your traffic too.

What is the one skill that will enable you to generate more traffic and convert more of your browsers into customers? At the end of this article you’ll find a resource box that contains a link to my website, click on that to find out. Deal?

After you’ve mastered that one skill, the next step is implementing it through multiple online and offline marketing methods. Regardless of what methods you use, I promise that the one skill will pay off big if you learn…

Copywriting. Direct response copywriting to be specific. By now you’ve heard of direct response copywriting, but have you invested time, capital, and effort in learning and implementing the skill? Chances are if you have, you are enjoying the benefits of using the skill. If you haven’t learned anything about direct response copywriting, keep reading to grab some helpful tips.

2 Simple Tips for Grabbing Your Website Visitors By The Lapel and Persuading Them to Hand Over the Moolah Tip #1. Headlines

Headlines are crucially important to the success of your website. Testing has proven that headlines can increase your sales as much as 1900%. The late, legendary copywriter John Caples revealed that fact during his phenomenally successful career. By the way, I define Mr. Caples’ success on how many sales were made as a result of his talent as a copywriter. And I can assure you that Mr. Caples’ selling success was nothing short of phenomenal. But let me get back to headlines.

According to David Ogilvy, another legendary copywriter, the headline is the most important part of an ad. On average, five times (500%) as many people will read the headline as the actual body copy. That obviously means we must spend a considerable amount of time creating headlines.

It’s customary for professional website copywriters to write as many as 100 headlines before deciding on one to use. You may think that would be a daunting task but it’s not. All you need are a few headline writing formulas. There are 11 widely used headlines. I’ll share 3 with you right now.

The “How To” headline is one the easiest to write for “do it yourself” types. “How To” headlines grab people’s attention because of the promise of learning something of value. For example, “How to Put Words Together that Make People Beg to Buy Your Product”. Get the idea?

Another headline writing formula that’s good for “do it yourself” types is the “If, Then” statement. Here’s what I mean. “If you give me one hour of your time for 12 weeks and your promise to take action on what I recommend, I guarantee your online business sales and profits will double — or you don’t pay me a dime”. How did that grab you?

The last headline formula that I recommend for “do it yourself” types is the “Specific Testimonial” headline. I don’t need to explain why your testimonials should be specific, do I? Okay, I’ll give a brief explanation. Better yet, I’ll provide you with a vague and specific testimonial headline, then you judge which one influences you the most. Deal?

Vague Testimonial: “Harry Toes is fantastic!” J.A., CA.

Specific Testimonial: “Harry Toes is brilliant… he shared one method that I invested $1,839 in that brought back $33,637 gross profit.” Jim Baldy, President, Bald Men’s Club, Gaithersburg, MD,

Tip #2 Offer

“I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse” – Don Vito Corleone, The Godfather. In 1972, Marlon Brando verbalized what every great marketer must master. Making irresistible offers. A powerful factor in making irresistible offers is taking risk out of the transaction for your prospective customer. Let’s face it, nobody want’s to lose money and get stuck with a bad product. Taking away that fear will boost your online sales.

Here’s an example: “For only $49 you can try out “21 Secret Traffic Conversion Methods That Rich Website Owners Revealed To Help Their Fellow Online Marketers” for up to one full year. If at anytime you’re not convinced that the secret traffic conversion methods will make your sells soar, simply return it and receive a refund of every penny you paid– no questions asked and no hard feelings. Plus, as an added bonus, you can keep the FREE bonus gift “Website Traffic Conversion Secrets Revealed” just for giving me a shot. You have nothing to lose… call now!”

Is that powerful?

Before I wrap this article up, I’ll share another example of making irresistible offers in the form of a rather famous story told to me by marketing expert Jay Abraham.

Once upon a time, a father went shopping for a pony to buy for his daughter. After looking at a few dozen ponies, this man had almost decided between two ponies. They were quite similar; in fact, the price was the same. He decided to take another look so that he could make a final decision.

The first farmer was eagerly attempting to sell his pony so he went on and on about how gentle and cute his pony was, but the father didn’t decide. The second farmer was different in his approach. He didn’t brag about the pony, he simply said…

“Sir, I’m certain you’re daughter will love this pony so here’s what I’ll do: Give me a check, and I’ll hold it for 30 days. I’ll bring you a saddle, bridle, the pony and 30 days of hay. If your daughter decides to keep the pony, let me know at the end of the 30 days, and I’ll cash the check. Otherwise, I’ll give you back your check, pick up the pony and even clean up where he’s been.”

Which farmer would you buy from?

In closing, you can convert more of your visitors into customers. It will take an investment of your capital and time, but I guarantee you the return on investment will be worthwhile. Begin writing headlines with the “How to”, “If/Then”, and “Specific Testimonial” format to grab your website visitors by the lapel and include irresistible offers to persuade them to hand over the moolah.

8 Ways to Get Free Targeted Traffic

What good is your website if no one knows about it? The reason most webmasters fail within their first year is because they overlook advertising and promotion. Just because you have a perfectly designed website does not mean that people will find it. It is not hard to produce a steady stream of targeted traffic, and it can be absolutely free if you do it right. Below are eight free ways to produce quality targeted traffic for your website.

1. Search Engines

Search Engines are one of the best sources for targeted traffic and potential customers, so search engines should be one of the biggest factors for advertising and promotion. Did you know that most people never click past the first page of search engines? You need to be on the first page of search engines for your targeted keywords to generate targeted traffic. Getting your website to the top of search engines such as Google and Yahoo for free takes special methods called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Search Engines Optimization envolves many factors, such as Meta Tags, Inbound Links, title tags, keywords, content, and PageRank. Since SEO is such an advanced field, HitsBam has written a completely seperate article entitled A Complete Guide to Search Engine Optimization to get you to the top of search engines for free.

2. Message Boards

Message Boards, or commonly known as forums, are great places to make partnerships with other webmasters and gain targeted traffic. First, create a signature post file with your name and URL so everytime you post a message, people will be interested in your website. Then introduce yourself slowly by posting useful information and answering questions. The more active you become in the forum, the better, because you will be known as an “expert”, which gives you and your website a good reputation. Always remember to obide by the forum’s rules and NEVER spam them with your website. A good signature for a forum would look something like this:

———————————————

Your Name

http://www.yourwebsite.com

“A funny or catchy quote”

———————————————

3. Email Signatures

Imagine that every email you send out is advertising for your website. This can be a reality if you utilize email signatures. Almost every email program or website has this feature. You can use it when sending personal emails, business emails, when you email your clients, in your autoresponder, or any other email that is sent. Email Signatures are perfect to keep people coming back to your website because the signature reminds them that your website exists. Remember to never spam, it just is not worth it. A good email signature would look something like this:

———————————————

Your Name

Your Website Title

http://www.yourwebsite.com

“Your Slogan” or a Short Description

———————————————

4. Content

Content, Content, Content! Search engines are so sophisticated these days that the only real way to get on the top of search engines is to have good keyword-rich content. Not only will you recieve top rankings on search engines, people will actually want to visit your site, especially if the content is for free. You could also post your articles at ezines and websites and leave your link at the bottom. This lets people know that you are knowledgable and that they should visit your website, and it works suprisingly well to generate targeted traffic for free. You can make some real money selling links on your website if you have good content. Some websites with a PageRank of 7 or more sell links for $250+ a month! Don’t forget to place your keywords all over your website and in your articles. The more keywords you incorporate into your content, the better, just make sure it is still an understandable article and not just an article full of keywords.

5. Start A Newsletter

Newsletters can be a great way to keep visitors comming back to your website. It is suggested that you send out a unique issue every week to keep reminding the customers that you are still here, but make sure each issue is different and has something to offer the reader, usually free information. Once you reach about 100 subscribers, the newsletter can become an income generator, as you can sell ad space on it. You can find some great free scripts for your newsletter at www.ACJavascripts.com.

6. Awards
Submitting your site to be chosen for awards is a great way to get people to find your website. If you happen to win a big award that fits the color scheme of your website, you could display it proudly on your front page showing your visitors that the website is reliable and has won awards. 7. Free Stuff

Free stuff to offer your visitors is a great way to keep them comming back or to persuade them to buy your products. There are many things you can offer, such as email addresses, games, information, tips and hints, software, ebooks, and the list goes on. You could give away something that would compliment a sale for your product. An example would be to give away free information on how dirty air can cause health problems if you are selling air purifiers.

8. Traffic Swarm

We usually do not support traffic exchange programs and click for traffic programs, but we have found an exception. A program called Traffic Swarm has been one of our biggest targeted traffic producers. Its unique way of letting the surfer choose what site they want to visit has proven successful and has reflected its success to its members. They do offer a pro memebership that gives you bonus credits, 2000 credits per month, a featured site link, and much more. HitsBam highly suggests joining this free program.

Traffic Generation: The Number One Skill That Will Generate Cash Flow (Part 1 of 3)

If you’re feeling a bit of confusion and frustration about how to get visitors to your website and generate more sales, I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way until I stopped listening to every “big time” marketer that came along with the latest traffic generating trick.

You’ve got dozens of gurus vying for your attention and every one of them has the solution to all of your problems. Right? The proliferation of messages that promise a traffic explosion using new techniques can become overwhelming.

Time out.

Take a deep breath.

Sit back in your chair.

Relax.

Now, if you will focus your energy on a very short list of traffic generation strategies that actually DO work, and commit to continually improving your skills in these few areas, you will be amazed at what you can achieve… WILL achieve.

Websites come in a wide variety of flavors, including…

- Minisites designed to sell individual products
- Portal sites designed to sell a broad selection of products
- Content sites designed to provide information

Of the above site species (minisites, portal sites and content sites), which do you think has the best chance of selling a product and putting income in your bank account?

ANSWER: Minisites.

Let’s talk about web traffic.

Imagine 5 different internet users going to Google, MSN, Yahoo or whatever their favorite search engine happened to be, and each individual enters one of the following search queries:

Search #1: hazards

Search #2: household hazards

Search #3: chemical household hazards

Search #4: chemical household hazards for infants

Search #5: protecting infants from chemical household hazards

If you had a website that sold a device that guaranteed the safety of infants by locking cabinets containing hazardous household chemicals, which of the above visitors do you think would be most likely to buy what you’re selling? I know. I hear you. “That’s pretty obvious, Ron.”

We want internet user #5 most. We may also want #3 and #4. Do we want #1 and #2? Maybe… Maybe not. The answer to that is going to depend on what it takes to get them to our site. But before we attempt to answer that question, HERE’S SOMETHING CRITICAL…

My Question to You: “If you were assured that you could get visitor #5 to your website, where would you send them?”

Let’s say that your website had a variety of home safety products available. You sell everything from fire extinguishers to first aid kits to carbon monoxide detectors to child safe locks.

Your site’s home page has just a little bit of information on each of your home safety product lines. Would you send visitor #5 to your home page?

Or…

Since visitor #5 just did a search for “protecting infants from chemical household hazards”, would you have better results by sending them directly and immediately to the web page where they can order your device that guarantees the safety of their child from chemical household hazards?

Please don’t think that I’m trying to insult your intelligence. I’m not. It’s just that I have received correspondence from other direct marketers online concerned about the low sales of their websites only to find out that whenever that person sent traffic to their site, the traffic was going to their home page rather than to a page that spoke directly to the needs and desires of the visitor.

Alrighty then? Traffic time.

There are only 3 ways to get traffic to your website:

1) Buy it.
2) Borrow it.
3) Steal it.

Since #3 is not an option we’re going to consider, that leaves us with “buy it” and “borrow it”.

Before we go any further, let’s talk about the “Holy Grail” of web traffic. What is it? FREE TRAFFIC! I want it. You want it. Every disillusioned internet marketer wants it.

Here’s the truth…

It’s a myth.

It doesn’t exist.

There is no such thing as free website traffic.

“Ya but Ron, what if I could be #1 in Google for ‘Internet Marketing’ or ‘Website Tools’?”

If you were able to get there or anywhere close, what would be required? What investment in time and resources would be required to land a prized spot such as this? Would you be able to get there for free? Furthermore, how long would you stay there?

Let’s face it, neither Google, Yahoo, Altavista nor MSN wants any individual to be able to control the results of their search engines. That’s why they spend millions upon millions of dollars every year taking steps to ensure that nobody has the knowledge to control all of the top positions.

Is search engine positioning something to aspire to? Perhaps. Given time. But it will not put any money in your pocket in the short term. That’s pretty well guaranteed.

There are only 2 ways to get traffic to your website:

1) Buy it.
2) Borrow it.

Buy it? Yes, buy it. We’re not talking about fortunes changing hands. There’s no need to take out a second or third mortgage on you home to use this strategy. Traffic can be generated to your site for literally pennies per visitor.

Where will you buy traffic to your website? PPC Search Engines. PPC (“Pay Per Click”) search engines give you the best opportunity to find the most motivated buyers and get them to visit your website. This is what you should be considering for your primary method of generating traffic to your website.

Remember above where we considered searcher #1 – searcher #5? We want searcher number five on our website, right? Right. We can and will find searcher #5 on the PPC search engines if we take the right approach. In a little bit I’ll give you a list of PPC search engines to consider using, but first let’s formulate a game plan.

Here’s the basics of PPC advertising:

1) We have a product to sell.

2) We determine what the product has to offer and why someone might want to buy our product. (hint: focus on benefits, not features)

3) We do some keyword research to see if people are out there actually looking for the solution that our product offers.

4) Assuming that there’s sufficient demand for our product /solution, we make a list of the keywords and keyword phrases that people are actually using to conduct their searches.

5) We write an ad for our product in such a way that it gets the attention of the searcher. This may mean changing ad copy slightly from one keyword phrase to the next. Try to put yourself in the position of the person doing the search.

6) We bid on the keywords that we’re targeting with the ad that we’ve written and…

Wa-la! Traffic.

Is this a viable option? Absolutely. Google Adwords ads can be had for as little as $0.05 per click. Overture traffic can be had for as little as $0.10 per click.

If you’re selling a product for $19.95, how many clicks can you buy and still be profitable? One sale out of 199 clicks and you’re profitable. At this rate you only made a nickel, but that was at a conversion rate of only 0.5%! What if you had a conversion rate of 3%? 3% (3 visitors out of 100 become customers) doesn’t sound like too much does it?

If you did indeed have a 3% conversion rate on a $19.95 product and were able to buy traffic for $0.10 per visitor, here’s how the math works:

100 visitors cost you $10.00

3 visitors became customers and spent a total of $59.85.

Subtract your $10.00 advertising cost from your $59.85 revenue, and you have profited $49.85 (or somewhere close after PayPal or other selling fees).

So now, how much can you afford to spend on traffic?

If you’ve been running the above advertising campaign long enough to feel confident that a 3% conversion ratio is something that you can count on, then do the math backwards.

Your net profit is $49.85 for 100 visitors. Therefore, your “per visitor” value is $0.50 (I’m rounding up very slightly). Knowing this is a huge advantage.

Can you find more visitors to your site for $0.20, $0.30 or even $0.40? Of course you can, and it will still be profitable! Obviously, the less you spend on advertising, the more you keep. But if you could find a source of automatic traffic that you knew was profitable, wouldn’t you buy as much as you could find?

This is exciting stuff! PPC traffic can work for you. Yes, there’s a little bit of a learning curve, but that’s true with anything new that you do.

Here’s a list of PPC Search Engines that you should consider starting with:

Google AdWords (http://www.adwords.google.com)
Overture (http://www.overture.com)
FindWhat (http://www.findwhat.com)
Enhance Interactive (http://www.enhance.com)
GoClick (http://www.goclick.com)
7Search (http://www.7search.com)
Kanoodle (http://www.kanoodle.com)
ePilot (http://www.ePilot.com)
Search123 (http://www.search123.com)
SearchFeed Interactive (http://www.searchfeed.com)
eSpotting (http://www.espotting.com)
Xuppa (http://www.xuppa.com)

There are only 2 ways to get traffic to your website:

1) Buy it.
2) Borrow it.

In part 2 of this series, we’ll continue our thoughts on “(1) Buy it” – traffic that is.

One of the best ways of increasing web site traffic ranking for a variety of keywords and phrases is to use keyword rich articles on your web page. This will allow you to provide useful information for web surfers as well as include keywords that will help your page get noticed.

When it comes to keyword rich articles, you can either write them yourself or have them written for you.
