Marriage Is Hard Work

To get married or not to get married tie the knot? That is the doubt. It never was the query. It was before ‘When to marry?’ not ‘why to marry’. For a long time young ladies were required and put pressure on themselves to ascertain a hubby young, marry and set up home with tiddlers and a furry friend, and devote their lives to operating a well run home. Perchance because women have been set free from what were once their traditional roles, that a marriage ceremony is no longer high on the agenda and definitely not the only road to go along. In Actually many people- both men and women- categorically detest the idea of marriage, and can’t envisage looking into a lover’s eyes and promising whole-heartedly to spend the rest of their lives with them until death do they part. In many ways it’s quite sad, because weddings can be such merry occassions especially when they feature a pretty wedding dress and sky lanterns. But, unhappy marriages can be damaging, financially and emotionally damaging, and the most isolating things ever. Though being in a ill-starred partnership is also hugely isolating, somehow with the marriage tag, it’s worse still . Colleagues have certain expectations of a pair when they are officially married and have supposedly spent so much cash on their wedding day. They are due to be happy or to at least try their hardest to be so. As a result of this detected outside insistency, many married couples feel they have to put on a show and conceal their honest attitudes. The reason why there were once a greater amount marriages or why marriages lasted a few generations ago is because couples had no choice but to keep pressing on with their relationship. This is good in some ways, but in others, it is very damaging. Yes there were a greater percentage of spousal relationships, but there were also many more desperately pitiful ones.
